William George's son (Frederick Clarence Edward or Clarence Edwin Frederick depending on who you believe Army Records filled in by Edward himself or his birth Certificate), gave his next of kin on his Army records as his Father "George" so obviously William George called himself George .... well, why not??? If he didn't he probably would have felt left out there were so many other George's in the family.
